This necklace is inspired by a dead pigeon I once came across on a sidewalk that appeared to be in perfectly pristine condition but was actually stuffed with an assortment of tiny maggots and worms. Their slick pink and white bodies shone like gems and pearls creating a weird juxtaposition between the grotesqueness of what was and the odd beauty of what it mimicked. The pendant features a freshwater pearl fringe hanging below the enameled bird head, giving it both movement and elegance while also subtly representing the new life emerging from the bird's body.

*I hand-paint each individual piece of my jewelry with enamel. The pearls I use are freshwater and thus each one is slightly unique in shape. With these things in mind, please understand each pair of earrings may have slight differences.
