Black Pearl Pigeon Earrings
Black Pearl Pigeon Earrings
This pair of earrings is inspired by the dead pigeons I'd happen upon near the subway tracks in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Often such an under-appreciated bird in NYC, they seemed to be readily overlooked and discarded, despite being full of such differences and intricacies. These earrings feature three large freshwater pearls hanging below each enameled pigeon, shimmering an array of dark iridescent colors like pigeon feathers themselves.
materials: watercolor enamel, enamel, freshwater pearls, copper, sterling silver, patina
length: 2 1/4"
width: 1 1/4"
*The earwires are sterling silver
*I hand-paint each individual piece of my jewelry with enamel. The pearls I use are freshwater and thus each one is slightly unique in shape. With these things in mind, please understand each pair of earrings may have slight differences.
