Rose Garden Dreams

This print is of a mixed media collage I made that highlights the odd and unexpected beauty found even in the most gristly of scenes. When I found this squirrel, what stood out wasn't the blood and gore itself, but the fact that it had arranged itself around the squirrel like petals; I thought instantly of the shapes within vintage wallpapers and lace fabrics. Here, the blood has been cut away, allowing lace to replace it as it peeks through, highlighting the floral shape mimicked in the very lace surrounding the photo and hugging the memory of the squirrel's final resting place. 

These giclee prints are archival quality and are produced on 100% cotton rag cold press fine art paper that has a texture and weight similar to traditional watercolor paper.
