Mourning Dove Earrings
Mourning Dove Earrings
This pair of dove heads is largely inspired by the animals surrounding my rural home that have gotten caught by cats or foxes, only to have their body parts hoarded like treasure and left at the doorstep or strewn around the yard. They feature dramatic beaded fringe made up of a mixture of red beads spilling out from the enameled dove heads, adding movement and beauty while also depicting blood spilling out. There are also freshwater pearls added in to mimic maggots, and new life, starting to emerge.

*The earwires are sterling silver
*I hand-paint each individual piece of my jewelry with enamel. The pearls I use are freshwater and thus each one is slightly unique in shape. With these things in mind, please understand each pair of earrings may have slight differences from the pair pictured.
