Pearl Entrails Necklace

This rabbit necklace is inspired by the bodies of animals I find mangled in the road, often at the edge where it meet the forests surrounding my rural home. The enamel pendant features an ombre mixture of freshwater pearls spilling out from the torso that add beauty and movement to the pendant while also subtly mimicking the shininess of entrails strewn across the road. The enameled rabbit is set on a brass backing that has a heart cut out for a colorful surprise on the pendant's back, as well as to serve as a reminder of the sweet lives of the deceased little critters. The pendant hangs from hand-braided embroidery floss and is finished off with a rustic knot.
