Discarded Torso Necklace

This field mouse pendant is inspired by the little animals surrounding my rural home  that have gotten caught by cats or foxes, only to have their body parts strewn around the yard. It features an assortment of red beads spilling out from the enameled mouse torso, adding movement and beauty while also depicting blood. The mouse is set on a brass backing that has a heart cut out for a colorful surprise on the pendant's back, as well as to serve as a reminder of the sweet lives of the deceased little critters. The setting has been patinaed to better match the antiqued look of the brass chain that the pendant hangs from. The chain is finished off with a lobster clasp.
